MUISA Player Of The Year | Antonio Valencia

The Ecuador international got the majority vote from the supporters associations of the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia and South Africa for his fantastic form this season.

Valencia has certainly proven himself as a fan favourite. Not only has his scintillating form been a key factor in United’s title charge, but by announcing he no longer needed an agent as he wanted to stay at the club indefinitely, the winger further endeared himself to the club's estimated 300m following.

The award - the first of its kind, after a season where the international associations came together to name their players of the month to build up - was announced at the recent “United Nights” event by club legend Gary Pallister (pictured, with the MUISA trophy and MUTV presenter Mark Sullivan) who decreed Valencia a “worthy winner”.

Valencia won the award with 36% of the vote, ahead of striker Wayne Rooney in second place, and Paul Scholes in third.
