Ferguson's Strategical Squad Rotation Plan For United

As predicted back in January, Sir Alex Ferguson is completely restructuring his squad as he prepares for yet another stretch run of success for Manchester United.

The United manager has never been afraid to make wholesale changes to his team to keep the freshness Back in 1995/96, 2003/04 and, now, with 70 years of experience lifted from the club, he looks to beckoning on another.

Ferguson continues to prove that he is a one-off as he has outlasted many of his critics by saying that he and United are washed up, and would take a foolhardy betting man to bet against him from achieving success again.

It looks like the United supporters should thank Wayne Rooney for his part in all of this, because it seems to be him that has unearthed the challenge for Ferguson to complete this squad overhaul.

It does not really matter whether it was him or just a sheer coincidence, because everyone involved with the club - players, fans and coaching staff - should be licking their lips to see another run at glory.

When Ferguson did this the last time, success did not happen overnight and the critics went through a lot of ink with stories that the Gaffer has finally lost the plot. Everyone remembers how hard the 2004/05 was to take, but that showed the fans couple of things.

The fans need to have patience in the Gaffer and trust that he has the best interest of the club at heart and would never do anything to jeopardize the success of Manchester United. During that trying time, the supporters, who trusted the manager and did not jump ship to Chelsea, were rewarded with years loaded with silverware and club triumphs.

After suffering a couple of embarrassing losses to Barcelona in Europe, Sir Alex has seen how far the club has been able to go with the current group of stars, and he has been willing to let some of them go to other clubs.

A lot of other managers have not be able to manage themselves let alone a successful club, but Sir Alex knows that he must make tough decisions to propel the club to the next level. Sometimes the decisions work in his favor and sometimes they don't work out, but he at least has learned from his mistakes and moves on in a positive direction.

Everyone thought that he was absolutely bonkers for giving his infamous Fergie's Fledglings a chance after selling off a core group of players that helped him reached success in the early to mid 1990's.

Paul Ince, Andrei Kanchelskis, Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce all left the club, but with the right players chomping at the bit for their chance, the club immediately picked up right before they left off, and, unfortunately, we live in a different era now with instant success not guaranteed.

So far, Sir Alex has the players in place that can help dramatically with getting the right results to help sustain the success. David de Gea, Phil Jones and Ashley Young are all great signings and each of them will play an instrumental role to make sure that there is not a drop off in the level of performance, but also bring the club to that next level.

Ferguson has surrounded himself with people and players that he knows and trusts, but, just as important, that feel the same way about him, which will give United the best chance of achieving even more success.
