Hot on the Tott

Manchester United travel to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham in what is always an exciting match up between the two clubs, and this game should not be any different.

A revitalized Tottenham and they come into the match sitting in second place in the English Premier League after winning all of their first four matches. Only goal differential is keeping Harry Redknapp's side off the top of the table.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men come into the match following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Arsenal, and currently sit in third place in the league - three points behind Spurs & Chelsea.

United and Tottenham met met four times last season - two in the Premier League, FA Cup and the Carling Cup. United won three of four, including the Carling Cup final on penalties.

Don’t Call It a Comeback
The last time these two clubs met up, United scored an amazing five second half goals coming back back from two goals down at halftime to beat Spurs, 5-2.

There was controversy about Michael Carrick's penalty that ignited the comeback, but United was like a shark and smelled blood. After that penalty, which was converted by Cristiano Ronaldo, United went rampant. Wayne Rooney grabbed two goals, Ronaldo scored another and former Tottenham star, Dimitar Berbatov, poked home the United fifth.

That was not the only time that United was forced to comeback from a few goal lead against Spurs though. Back in the 2001/02 season, United were three goals down at halftime, and again scored five second half goals.

Another comeback of sorts is Berbatov and Carrick return to their former club. Berbatov spent two successful seasons at White Hart Lane following his move Bayer Leverkusen. He scored an impressive 46 goals in 102 matches for Spurs.

Carrick also spent two seasons at Tottenham following a six-year spell at West Ham. He made a combined 200 appearances for the two clubs.

Who
Jermain Defoe, who was once a United transfer target, has been the player of the season so far for both club and country. The pesky Englishman has the midas touch, and has smashed in four from four, and he will look to continue his torrid streak against United.

Former Leeds United star Aaron Lennon was the star of the show for England against Croatia in the midweek. The tiny winger also notched a late, late winner against Birmingham City in Spurs last match.
