Wayne Rooney has recently stated that he needs to find a way to control his temperament, but he has to realize that his aggression is not only what sets him apart from other players, but it also gives Manchester United gives that cutting edge.
Rooney has to be one of the most committed players to ever play for United, but it is his passion for the game is what sets him apart from most.
Rooney has said before that he would play the game for free, and never takes for granted of his God-given talent.
He has attributes that most players can only dream of - skill, quickness, agility, power and finesse.
But while he has those world-class abilities, he has something that most top-class players do not have – the desire, dedication and determination.
Most top players rest on their laurels and whatever got them to where they are, but Rooney is never content with just that – he has the hunger to always want more.
Catalyst
He is, without question, going to be the catalyst for United for years to come, and could someday wear the captain’s armband.
He is a very outspoken player, and is always in and around the referee when there is a decision being made.
He has always put the need of the team before his own wants, and has played in many positions
Number
Most people forget that Rooney is only 23 years of age, because he has been at United since the tender age of 18.
He scored a memorable hat trick on his first appearance for United, and what it makes it more impressive is that it was his first appearance in the Champions League. Since his debut in September of 2004, he has gone onto fulfill the promises of being the most expensive teenager.
Before coming to Old Trafford, Wayne played two full seasons at Everton. He made 77 appearances and scored 17 goals for the Toffees during those two seasons.
Sir Alex Ferguson spent £28 million for his potential, and Rooney has repaid the manager by making 249 appearances, and then becoming only the 21st player to score over a 100 goals for the Reds. He currently has on 104 goals for the Reds.
Rooney’s worth always been overshadowed because of Cristiano Ronaldo’s amazing productivity, but not that he has gone to Real Madrid, it is now Wazza’s time to prove to the rest of the football world that he can inspire Manchester United to greatness.
